500 grams of chicken, 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste, 2 large-sized onions, 100 grams of yogurt, 1teaspoon of cumin powder, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1/4th teaspoon of pepper, red chili as per taste, salt as per taste, 1 teaspoon of dry fenugreek leaves(Kasuri Methi), 1-inch cinnamon stick, 1 bay leaf, a half flower of mace, 2 cardamoms, 1 black cardamom, 4-5 peppercorns, 3-4 cloves, 1 tablespoon of Kashmiri chili optional, a half teaspoon of garam masala, few drops of Kevda water, cooking oil or clarified butter.
