Weekends are relaxing.
Everyone sitting at the table and having breakfast lunch and dinner together is a blessing. Prepared some really simple dishes for dinner.

Kerala puttu is very famous and so is the kadala curry, that's the black chana curry that goes well with it. Whatsoever, i love puttu and pazham (banana).

This method of preparing puttu flour was suggested by my Semi Aunty from Dubai, she's my mom's cousin. You get really soft puttu fromthis. I don't suggestusing basmati rice. Either kuruva or matta rice works the best for this.

VEG RICE :
Basmati rice - 2 cups (i used around 2 and 1/4 cup, but still the water quantity of 3 cups is enough )
Ginger - a medium size crushed
Garlic - 4 - 5 crushed
Onion - 2 small chopped
Kashmiri red chilli powder - 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tbsp
Tomato - 2 large chopped
Potato - 1 large chopped
Capsicum - 1 large chopped
Salt
Oil - 5 tbsp

CREAMY CHICKEN :
Mixture 1 :
All-purpose flour - 4 tbsp
salt - 1 tsp
black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
red chilly flakes - 1 tsp
oregano - a pinch
paprika - 1/2 tsp

Mixture 2 :
Milk - cup
Lemon juice - of half lemon

Mixture 3 :
Chicken cube - 1
Hot water - 1 cup
Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
Red chilly sauce - 1 tbsp

Other :
Chicken - 1 kg cut in small size
Oil - 5 - 6 tbsp
Corn flour - 1 tbsp mixed with 4 - 5 tbsp water
Onion - 1 small chopped
Garlic - 5 chopped
Ginger - a small piece chopped

Black Chana Curry ( Kadala Curry )
Black Chana curry - 1 cup soaked in water
Onion - 1 medium size sliced
Tomato - 1 large chopped
Salt
Water - 2 cups to boil black chana

Roasting coconut :
Grated coconut - 1 - cup
Dreid redchilly flakes - 5 - 6
Curry leaves
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Shallots - 2
garlic - 1 clove
ginger - a small piece
Black peppercorns - 1 tsp

Coconut paste :
Roasted coconut mix
Dry coconut spice mix - 2 tbsp ( recipe : )
Cooked Chana - 1 big spoon
Water - 1/2 cup while grinding and add more hot water later

Tempering :
Shallots - 5 - 6 sliced
Curry leaves - a handful
Dried red chillies - 5
Coconut oil - 4 tbsp
